Academic Advising

Rebecca Chaiban (rlchaiba@bauer.uh.edu) is the academic advisor for MBA students with last names A through H.

Nadia Ali (nali@bauer.uh.edu) is the academic advisor for MBA students with last names I through R.

Marian Newman (mnewman@bauer.uh.edu) is the academic advisor for MBA students with last names S through Z.

Bauer College uses Regular Session 1 (3 credit courses), Session 3 (1.5 credit courses in the first half of Spring and Fall), and Session 5 (1.5 credit courses in the second half of Spring and Fall).

A degree plan and additional enrollment information are included in the Academic Advising Documents folder. This can be used to track your progress through the program. Please refer to your degree plan to enroll yourself in your first semester of core courses through your myUH student account. Your academic advisor can assist you if you have questions regarding course load and course sequence. Syllabi or short course descriptions for core and electives can be found here.

Your choice of electives may make you eligible to earn one or more certificate(s). Since certificates are a grouping of electives, and electives are usually chosen after the majority of core courses are completed, it is not necessary to try to decide on electives the first semester you enter the program. You are not required to earn a certificate. The full list of certificates can be found here.

Please refer to the Financial Aid page for important financial information. Remember—if you're enrolled in less than 5 credit hours for Sessions 1 and 3 of a Fall or Spring semester, your financial aid will not be awarded until you begin Session 5. Likewise, in Summer if you're enrolled in less than 5 credit hours for Sessions 1 and 2, your financial aid will not be awarded until Session 4. Make sure to contact your MBA financial aid advisor, Karina Galvan, about your financial aid status or with any questions or concerns related to payment.
